QVC : All good things must come to an end!

For the past month, as many of you know, I have been working with QVC network at L.A Live as the hair and makeup artist for the models. Let me tell you, I have had more than a wonderful time and am so sad that it is over. All of the dreadful two to three hour drives there and back were definitely worth it. I gained some knowledge about what it is like to work on a live TV show and more importantly gained some amazing new friends. In a way I am relieved to have a little more free time (AKA study time) but I will definitely keep a space in my heart for so many of the wonderful people I have met along the way! Here are some of the gorgeous models I have had the opportunity to work with. I did the makeup for all of these girls over the span of the nine dates I worked.
Ambreal: Some of you may recognize her from America's Next Top Model! Me and her have become so close now!

Cora: My mom says she looks Sandra Bullock! Bahaha

I do hope QVC comes back because I truly enjoyed my time with the crew, the hosts, and the models. Everyone was so wonderful. If you have any questions please feel free to message me or leave a comment down below.

Have a wonderful week everybody! (:

I will be reviewing/swatching the blushes, lipsticks, and of course, the salmon concealers! Also, I have been in the process of making a review for the gosmile teeth whitening kit!The process takes twenty days and I am almost half way through with it. When I finish the process and get my final synopsis I will be able to post the full review!

QVC

Hello!

I hope you are all doing well :) Today I want to quickly share with you my experience with the QVC Network! They are filming 10 segments in LA and I am lucky enough to be able to do the hair and makeup for the models who are selling the products on the show. All of the girls were extremely nice and the show was great! Luckily because I was working all night in LA, I missed the power outage that happened in San Diego where I live. The only thing that was not so fun was not getting home until 3 AM.
Because we were so busy the entire time, I was only able to take a few pictures of my work. I did the hair and makeup on both of these beautiful ladies :)

The two photos above are taken of Ambrielle. She is so beautiful! One of the segments was a philosophy segment and they told me to put so much makeup on her that she looked like a clown. The product that they were selling was a face cleanser so it was supposed to come off real easily. I put some bright red lipstick on her and SO MUCH blush! Hahaha she did great!

This is Brittany. It was her birthday....Happy Birthday Brittany! She is so beautiful as well. Both of these girls were so incredibly nice and I cannot wait to work with them again on Saturday :)

As the weeks go on, I will continue to update you guys on all my work!:) Also, coming soon is a Fall 2011 trends makeup tutorial ANDDDDDD an eve pearl review/swatch video!

Keep in touch,

Kelly xoxo

Side Braid Trend

Lately I have been favoring the side braid. I am finding that I am starting to follow trends (oh no!) and the side braid/boho look has definitely been easy to wear.

This has definitely been a trend Summer 2011 but it seems to be transferring to Fall 2011 as well which I don't mind at all!

Why I love the Side Braid :
  • Takes less than 5 minutes
  • Involves no heat
  • Easy to do
I hope this has given some of you some inspiration when you are styling your hair before school/work this week :)

VMA's Makeup Highlights

VMA's are always a showcase for not only amazing fashion but makeup. Here are a few of your favorite stars rocking makeup from EEK! to chic :)

Neutrals:
Beyonce has been really favoring a neutral eye and boy, does she work it! I think that her pregnant radiant glow definitely has added a sparkle to her. Congrats Beyonce!
Britney Spears is very much in the eye of the public with many of her new releases. To be honest, I was not and am not impressed with her hair, makeup, or outfit. Sorry Brit!
What can I say? Katie Holmes has the most beautiful skin. Her flawless skin was allowed to show through due to the subtle-ness of the rest of her makeup.
Selena Gomez definitely left the focus on her dress which was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. Love, love, love it. If I were her makeup artist I would have gone with more of a cat eye to elongate her eyes.
Miley Cyrus is very beautiful. I think that her true beauty isn't being shown here due to those blinding lashes! They are crooked making her eyes look a bit crooked. If a lighter set of lashes were to be used she would have looked much more flawless.
Kim is usually seen with lots of dark black eyeshadow and smokey eyes. She really wanted to go with a softer look for this even and it looks fabulous on her.

Sparkle:
Jessie J is definitely the most playful of the bunch. I am thinking that I see some Satin Toupe eyeshadow by Mac in the crease and smoked out underneath. Her entire outfit was so just wild and I loved that she made her broken leg work for her.
Snooki's makeup is just so much fun! Any tutorial requests for this?? Anyone??? :)

Bright Pink Lips:
There is nothing that I love more than a bright pink  from either of these two musical artists!

Katy Perry has always been one of my favorite people and I think that she always finds a way to WOW the crowd. Look at this dress! Although I love so many of the other outfits, I find hers to be the most unique.

Nicki Minaj also has a note-worthy dress. So amazing! Is she wearing like a bird puppet shoe?!?!?

Great Lashes:

Adele always has amazing, long lashes. She isn't afraid to play up her makeup!
I think that Demi Lovato's eyelashes fit her the best. She looks glamorous with the big, curly hair, long eyelashes, and sparkly dress.

Sorry about the lateness of this post. I hope this sends some inspiration your way whether it is for a day at school or a night out with the girls.

Have a wonderful week,

Kelly
